Artist Statement
I rarely plan out a painting, and get most of my inspiration at a moment’s notice - like a reflex or a reaction to something I see. I am most interested in capturing the feeling and movement of a place, and I find that oil paint allows me to translate these impressions best. Whether it be something as grand as a sunset or mundane as an empty coffee cup, I take note of these things with equal importance and interest.
