My friend André O’Kelly the printmaker, who could surely go toe-to-toe with Seán Ó Conaill for telling a story.

Seán Ó Conaill was a Ballinskelligs storytelling legend (Seanchaí) whose home remains in the middle of Cill Rialaig as the community house. I painted this one stormy evening while André read aloud from a book of old Irish ghost stories. I’m sure the hills of Bolus were glad to hear such tales once more.
